L-Lysine

L-Lysine from Progressive Laboratories provides 500 mg of the L-lysine per vegetable capsule.  Lysine is an essential amino acid needed for growth and to help maintain nitrogen balance in the body.‡ (Essential amino acids cannot be made in the body and must be supplied by the diet or supplements).

L-Lysine, like all amino acids, has many functions in the body.  They are the building blocks for all proteins – from muscle to connective tissues, bones and other structures.  Amino acids are also the basis for functional proteins such as active enzymes.  Amino acids provide the body with the nitrogen that is essential for growth and maintenance of all tissues and structures.‡
